Arabella Golf Club (18)
Arabella is a world class estate and with a rare gem of a golf course and lives up to its name which means “beautiful land”. The theme is balance. Challenging enough to bring you back for more, enjoyable enough to make you not want to leave. The design challenge was headed by the renowned architect Peter Matkovich. His undoubted success has resulted in a course that complements the environment without disappointing the golfer, whether expert or amateur.
The course was awarded the Golf Digest award for the best new course in South Africa in 1999. In 2002, the course was rated number 9 in South Africa by Golf Digest and number 5 in 2003. Arabella Golf Club was awarded the Compleat Golfer Five Star award in 2003. It borders the largest natural lagoon in Southern Africa, and the 9th, 17th and 18th run parallel to the lagoon.
Choosing a signature hole proves to be an extremely difficult task as all of the holes are well designed with spectacular views. The quality and conditioning of this layout is of the highest possible standards. Just an hour’s drive from Cape Town situated near Hermanus on the border of the Botriver and Kogelberg nature reserve.
Your golf journey will take you through breathtaking scenery, pristine kikuyu fairways, challenging bunkers and water hazards; and will then test your skill on immaculate dominant-bent greens. All of which receive frequent high praise from golf professionals and amateurs alike.
