Victoria Falls - 5 Day Chobe & Vic Falls Safari

The 5 Day Chobe & Vic Falls Safari is one of our Independent Safaris. Our Independent Safaris can be added as an extension to one of our guided small group Discover or Explore Safaris. On our Independent Safaris you have the same comforts of a guided tour; safari activities are included, all tour arrangements are taken care of, and you have a basic itinerary, but you are not on a schedule with a group and you can spend free time as you please. The Fly in Safari Company takes care of all tour arrangements. At the beginning of the tour each client will receive a basic itinerary with all the pickup times for transfers and activities. Our Independent Safaris are recommended to single travellers, couples, families or friends travelling together as a group.

The 5 Day Chobe & Vic Falls Safari visits the Victoria Falls, one of the seven natural wonders of the world, and the Chobe National Park, one of Africa’s greatest National Parks and wilderness areas. Your safari adventure starts at the Victoria Falls, Zambia, where an experience of a lifetime awaits you. You will stay at a secluded destination on the banks of the Zambezi River upstream from the mighty Victoria Falls. You will experience a guided tour of the Victoria Falls, go on a very relaxing sunset cruise on the Zambezi River, and have a choice of doing some fishing, island picnics, guided birding, guided village walks, or a guided tour of Livingstone town and its vibrant local markets. In full flow the Falls are spectacular, and no one describes its magnificence better than the locals, ‘Mosi-oa-Tunya’, meaning ‘The Smoke that Thunders’.

After two exciting days at the Victoria Falls you will be transferred across the Zambezi River into Botswana’s elephant kingdom, the Chobe region. You will stay in a very secluded luxury tented camp in a private concession in the Kasane Forest Reserve, bordering the Chobe National Park. The camp is unfenced and located on an ancient path that migrating elephants use on a regular basis, offering great game viewing from the comfort of the camp. In Chobe you will experience a Chobe River cruise, rated one of the best game viewing river cruises in Africa and known to offer amazing photographic opportunities.

You will also venture into Chobe National Park on guided open vehicle game drives, and have the opportunity to go on guided game walks in the private concession you will be staying in. Most famous for the largest concentration of Elephants in Africa, some 120 000 individuals, the Chobe also offers good sightings of Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Cheetah and the endangered African Wild Dog, with good chances of experiencing the interaction between the super predators and the animals they hunt. After two days on safari in one of Africa’s greatest wilderness areas, you get transferred to the Livingstone International Airport for your final flight to Johannesburg where you conclude a very memorable safari experience.
