The 5 Day Best of Two Rivers is one of our Independent Safaris. Our Independent Safaris can be added as anextension to one of our guided small group Discover or Explore Safaris. On our Independent Safaris you have thesame comforts of a guided tour; safari activities are included, all tour arrangements are taken care of, and you havea basic itinerary, but you are not on a schedule with a group and you can spend free time as you please. The Flyin Safari Company takes care of all tour arrangements. At the beginning of the tour each client will receive a basicitinerary with all the pickup times for transfers and activities. Our Independent Safaris are recommended to singletravellers, couples, families or friends travelling together as a group.

The 5 day Best of Two Rivers combines the best of the Zambezi and Chobe Rivers in one tour. This tour has daily departures depending. When you arrive in Livingstone your safari adventure starts and an experience of a lifetimeawaits you. You will stay in luxury on the banks of the Zambezi River just upstream from the mighty Victoria Falls, one of the ‘Seven Natural Wonders of The World’.

You will explore the Victoria Falls on a guided tour and learn interesting facts about this natural wonder. In fullflow the Falls are spectacular, and no one describes its magnificence better than the locals, ‘Mosi-oa-Tunya’,meaning ‘The Smoke that Thunders’.

You will also go on a very relaxing sunset dinner cruise on the Zambezi Riverwhere you have a great chance of seeing especially hippo’s, crocodiles, and elephants, not to mention variousbeautiful bird species that thrive in the area.

After two exciting days at the Victoria Falls you will be transferred across the Zambezi River into Botswana’s elephantkingdom, the Chobe region. You will stay in luxury on the banks of the wildlife rich Chobe River where it borders tothe Chobe National Park, at a location offering breathtaking views of the Chobe River and the National Park beyond. In Chobe you will experience a Chobe River cruise, rated one of the best game viewing river cruises in Africa and known to offer amazing photographic opportunities. You will also venture into Chobe National Park on morning and afternoon open vehicle game drives. Most famous for the largest concentration of Elephants in Africa, some 120 000 individuals, the Chobe also offers good sightings of Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Cheetah and the endangered African Wild Dog, with good chances ofexperiencing the interaction between the super predators and the animals they hunt.

After two days on safari in oneof Africa’s greatest wilderness areas, you get transferred to the Livingstone International Airport for your final flight toJohannesburg where you conclude a very memorable safari experience.

Itinerary

Day 1

You will be met by your guide at the Livingstone International Airport holding a sign board with your details. Roadtransfer (15 – 20 minutes) to the Royal Livingstone Hotel located above the mighty Victoria Falls. Later in theafternoon you depart on a sunset river cruise on the Zambezi River, known for excellent sightings of elephant,

hippo, crocodile and spectacular bird life. Return to the hotel around sunset and have the rest of the evening atleisure. Choose to have dinner at the hotel or perhaps try one of the many restaurants available in Livingstone town.Livingstone also has a vibrant nightlife to explore.Included: Transfer to Hotel & Zambezi Sunset River Cruise (as per itinerary)Overnight: Royal Livingstone Hotel (or similar accommodation)

Day 2 Victoria Falls, Zambia

After breakfast your will be met by your guide in the reception area of the hotel for a guided tour of the Falls. Yourguide will accompany you to the mighty Victoria Falls, a protected area and World Heritage Site where you willexperience a 2 hour guided tour of the magnificent Victoria Falls and surrounding area. Because of the spray of theFalls the area around the Falls is a natural rainforest and one can wonder along the charming paths through theforest for hours admiring one of Africa’s most spectacular attractions.

Your guide will tell you interesting facts about the Victoria Falls and enlighten you about this natural wonder of theworld. Return to the hotel and have the rest of the day at leisure. You can choose to relax in the lush surroundingsof the hotel, laze beside the pool, or do some of the many optional activities available including; white water rafting,canoeing, elephant back safaris, a lion encounter and scenic flights to name a few.Included: Breakfast & Guided Tour of the Victoria Falls (as per itinerary)Overnight: Royal Livingstone Hotel (or similar accommodation)

Day 3 Chobe National Park

After breakfast your guide will meet you in the reception area of the hotel and transfer you to your Chobe lodge.Transfer time to Chobe is approximately 2 - 3 hours including border procedures and crossing the Zambezi River intoBotswana. Your driver will assist you with border procedures and transfer you safely to your lodge on the banks of theChobe River, Botswana. Upon arrival at the lodge you will check in at reception and confirm times for your includedChobe River Cruise and morning & afternoon game drives at the activity centre of the lodge. A buffet lunch is servedin the dining area of the lodge overlooking the Chobe River.You have some time to settle in and relax in the beautiful surroundings of the lodge, do some bird watching, lazebeside the pool, or enjoy the breathtaking views from the lodge across the Chobe River and the Chobe National Parkbeyond. One can truly unwind with the common sound of grunting hippo’s and the cry of the African Fish Eagle inthe background. Later in the afternoon you will depart for the Chobe River Cruise that lasts for approximately 3 hours(confirm time upon arrival at lodge).Rated one of the best game viewing river cruises in Africa, you will have excellent photographic opportunitiesof spectacular birdlife and wildlife on the banks of the Chobe River, not to mention the multitude of hippo’s andcrocodiles that inhabit the river. Enjoy sundowners while watching a gorgeous African sunset over the Chobe. Day 4 Chobe National Park

An early morning wakeup call and a quick coffee or tea before you head out on a guided 4x4 open vehicle game driveinto the Chobe National Park for approximately 2 - 3 hours (confirm departure time upon arrival at lodge). The ChobeNational Park is famous for the largest concentrations of elephants on earth, but one can also see Lion, Leopard, bigherds of Buffalo, Cheetah, the endangered African Wild Dog, Hyena and a large variety of great antelopes to name afew. The Chobe also offers some of Africa’s best bird watching.After an exciting game drive you return to the lodge and have a scrumptious buffet breakfast. You have time torelax, maybe try some fishing, or visit the town of Kasane, or alternatively relax at the lodge making use of the manyfacilities. Later in the afternoon you will depart on an afternoon guided game drive in the Chobe National

Park. Afternoon game drive lasts for approximately 3 hours and you return to the lodge around sunset. Day 5 Victoria Falls / Livingstone

After breakfast you will be met by your guide in the reception area of the lodge for your transfer back to LivingstoneAirport (approximately 2 hour transfer).
